A Balanced Approach is a team of highly trained professionals with over 25 years of combined experience with children on the Autism Spectrum. Our goal is to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorders reach their full potential. To achieve this goal, we use the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) to create individualized programs to meet the specific needs of each child. We offer both Centre-Based and Home-Based IBI services, Social Skills Groups, Summer Camps, and Behaviour Consultations. Our Social Skills Groups and Summer Camps are not ASD-specific; they are geared towards any child who has trouble navigating the social world around them.
Our team consists of Kathie Shaw, B.C.B.A., MSW, RSW, founder and Clinical Supervisor, along with our qualified Senior Therapist, Shauna Pavone. We also employ an amazing team of Instructor Therapists for our centre-based clients, and work closely with an awesome group of self-employed Instructor Therapists that provide home-based IBI therapy. Together, we provide initial and ongoing ABLLS-R assessments or other curriculum tools appropriate for each child’s individual needs. We also provide programming, regular team meetings, supervision, and parent and Instructor Therapist training.
